The Polish Construction Industry :
A Guide for Irish Construction firms to work in Poland-
Over 60 CIF Members and guests attended a breakfast briefing, presented by the Ireland Poland Business Association, in Construction House on Thursday, October 22nd. Chaired by Tom Parlon, Director General of CIF, attendees were given an overview of the current economic climate in Poland with specific emphasis on the opportunities available to construction firms exploring investment opportunities there.
Mr. Miroslaw Barzcz – Business Centre Club, Poland
Graduated from Law Department of Lubin Catholic University. Former tax adviser, expert and analyst, employee of advisory and legal offices. Specialised in budget and transactions on real estate market in Central Europe. Since 2002, expert of Sobieski Institute – interdisciplinary analytical and research centre. Initiator of the Tax Council, coalition for the amendment of tax law in Poland. Author of numerous publications chiefly connected with taxes.
December 2005 to May 2006 – undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Finance responsible for the reform of the tax legal system. Co-author of the family policy and housing construction programme in Jaroslaw Kaczynski’s government
In 2007, he served as Minister of Construction.

Mr. Michael Shelly – PM Group
A Civil Engineer and Director of the PM Group, with responsibility for PM Group’s business in Central and Eastern Europe. Michael has more than 30 years experience in the engineering and construction industries in Ireland, UK, Europe and Asia. PM Group is currently one of the largest A&E Design and Project Management firms in Europe.
